Cowtown Half Marathon

The last Saturday in February, Marcie and I ran a Half Marathon together (13.1 miles). We had been training and building up our running for the previous couple months. We haven't been running too long - but we decided to take the plunge and go for the half marathon. It was a lot of fun to accomplish this goal together. We ran the whole 13.1 miles together and crossed the finishline holding hands. We are looking forward to the next one we do together.

Daddy Day

On Saturday, the boys and I had a Daddy day. In the morning we got some donuts then went to a Lego club meeting. They built and played "Monster 4". It is a Lego variation of Connect 4. The boys had a lot of fun. We hung out at the Lego store for a while. After we went to see a movie together - Percy Jackson - The Lightning Thief. The boys loved the movie. When we came home in the afternoon we ordered some Pizza and played the new Lego Monster 4 all together as a family. Blake even wanted to go to the grocery store with me that evening to continue Daddy day. It was so much fun spending time with my boys and then hanging out as a family and playing games. Blake said it was 'awesome!'. He continued to talk about it into the next day.

Snowmageddon

Here are some pictures of our recent snow storm. All this snow in Dallas is very unusual - in this latest storm our county was the hardest hit. The weather people on the news are calling it 'Snowmageddon'. It is late March and it was 73 degress the day before yesterday!

Landon's Baptism

Landon's baptism was very sweet. Landon was very excited for his baptism day and was prepared and ready. We arrived early so we could take our time changing and not be rushed. We sat in the chapel a while with family and friends. A lot of family, friends and members of the ward were there to support us all. Marcie's Dad gave a great talk to all those being baptised.

As They dismissed us from the chapel and as I was walking Landon down to the baptismal font, Landon turned to me and told me "Dad, this is a fun happy day." It really was. Then a moment later, he said; "I'm so excited to be baptised." I'll alway remember the happy excited look on his face.

Landon was the last to be baptised out of the 4 being baptised in our ward. The room was packed. Landon was right after his good friend Coleman. Landon was right up watching all of his friends get baptised. As we walked in, Landon said, "The water is so cold." It was a little cold. Coleman and his dad, John, stood just outside the font to watch Landon be baptised.

When Landon was 4 and 5, he would throw tantrums saying that he would never, ever get baptised becaused he didn't want to put his head under water. He got over that and did very well getting baptised.

My Dad confirmed Landon - they have a special bond as my dad watched Landon daily until he was about 3 years old.

It was a fun happy day.
