Vacation Day 4

We spent today with the Kump family and went shopping and relaxed. The Youngbergs let us use their pool. It had a rock waterslide. Landon was timid about going down the slide - but after seeing Lydia his cousin do it several times - he was determined to go. He went down and had a blast and said it was his favorite part of the day.

Vacation Day 3 (Disneyland Day 2)

This was our second day at Disneyland. It was Friday and a whole lot busier than Thursday. There were a ton of people. The boys still had fun. Landon said his favorite things were seeing the 'real' Darth Vader, the teacups, Peter Pan, and the roller coaster (the kids one in Toontown). Jeff's parents offered to watch the boys so that Marcie and he could go back and ride some of the adult rides and have some time together - which they loved! They were able to go on Soarn' over California and Big Thunder before thier feet gave out. It was a really fun day!

Vacation Day 2 (Disneyland)

We had our first day at Disneyland. The boys had a blast. They were worn out at the end of the day - they feel asleep when we got back in less than 3 minutes. Landon & Blake loved the Buzz Lightyear laser blasters. This year at Disneyland they are having the year of a million dreams where they randomly hand out gifts to guests in the park. We were lucky enough to win. We won 4 5x7 photos taken by the professional Disney photographers. It was worth about $50. We were excited.

Elkstone Home in Anaheim, California

This the home Jeff grew up in. It was fun to drive past it to see that it is still pretty much the same - just the vegitation has grown.
It looks like they also replaced the front door with one that has stained glass windows and side windows.

Vacation Day 1 (Universal Studios)

Today we spent the day at Universal Studios. It was a lot of fun. We enjoyed seeing the "backlots" and how the movies were made. The boys didn't appreciate alot of it like we did. They loved playing in the Nick Jr. area the most.

Vacation - Day 1 (Plane Ride)

We left Dallas headed for Los Angeles very early this morning. We were at the airport at 5 am. The boys were both very excited to be on a airplane. Blake slept a little bit on the 2 1/2 hour flight, but Landon did not sleep - he was too busy looking out the window and pushing the buttons.

Landon's Robots

Landon is very into robots. He loves to draw robots or build them with whatever he can find. When he goes to the grocery store he has found the wire bag ties. He is very imaginative and twists them around to make a new wire robot each time.

Haircut

They boys got haircuts on Saturday. Landon loves to have the pretty girls cut his hair and Blake sits very well now and doesn't move around a lot.

A little more details...

I thought that I would add a little more about our new life here in Texas.
We are loving the town we live in. McKinney is full of fun things to do. The boys and I stay pretty busy everyday. The boys are getting along really well with our neighbor, Hunter, who is eight years old. They all play together everyday now that it is summer time.
Our ward is pretty amazing. People at church are very friendly and we're enjoying how close-knit the ward is. Jeff is teaching the 11-12 year old primary class. He always has fun stories to tell after church on Sundays. I've just been called to teach the 2nd Sunday of each month in Relief Society. My first lesson is tomorrow. I'm more nervous than I thought I would be; RS seems so much more intimidating than Primary or Young Womens! Landon loves his CTR5 class. And Blake cannot wait to go to Nursery each week. We just couldn't be happier with the ward.
Life outside of Utah is still an adjustment. We miss all our family back in Utah. The boys really miss their cousins. Nana and Papa Roe visited in April and Grammy and Papa Kump visited just last week, so the boys have fortunately had some time with their grandparents.
Jeff loves his new job. He is very busy, as he mentioned in his post. He tries very hard to make time to spend with the family. Infact, he took the boys to the pool for a couple hours today. They had so much more fun with Daddy than they do with me at the pool! So, that was great. It also gave me some time to work on my lesson some more. (I need all the time I can get.)
I'm adjusting well to the move. Texas feels like home to me. I have had a lot of fun setting up our house and still have a lot more plans!!!! My only challenge is my weight. I've gained all of my weight back since moving here. (Getting bored or lonely and eating.) Any words of encouragement from anyone would be greatly appreciated. It just seems to be an on-going struggle for me these past few years.
Sugar, our little border/yorkie mix is a blast. She lets the boys carry her all over the place. She loves to play fetch and already knows the place to be is under the dining room table whenever the boys are eating.
Well, that sums things up for now. I'll write more soon!!!!

Jeff's New Job

We made the move to Texas because of Jeff's new job. It is with a small private company in Allen, Texas (which is about 30 minutes directly north of Dallas and 15 minutes from where we live in McKinney). The company is called ACH Direct. The company processes electronic payment transactions. You can find more info about the company at www.achdirect.com

Jeff is currently running the accounting department as a Director of Finance.

Additionally, Jeff is looking to hire another accountant with an accounting degree. So if you know of anyone in the Dallas area who has an accounting degree - send them to Jeff. They can email Jeff's work. jeff.kump@achdirect.com

If you know of a company needing to process their payments (such as credit cards, paper checks or electronic checks), Jeff's company can help them out.

Home Depot

At Home Depot the first Saturday of every month they have a project for kids under 12. Here in Texas they have allowed Blake to do it eventhough he is only 2. In Utah they had to be 4.

Woot.com

www.woot.com

I like to visit this site. It has one deal a day. Usually electronics and such. The deals start at midnight everyday and go until either they sell out (which is often) or until midnight again. They have things like mp3 players, roombas, speakers, TVs, cameras, printers, computer accessories. You get the idea. It is fun when they have a 'woot off'. They keep selling highly discounted things one right after another.
